Star Parks was formed in 2004 when the US-based theme park operator, Six Flags, Inc. sold its seven European theme parks to Palamon. The parks, operated primarily under the Walibi brand name and located in Germany, Holland, Belgium and France, offer family entertainment through attractions such as large-scale feature rides, stage shows, cinema, music festivals and a variety of themed dining experiences. In May 2006 Star Parks sold six of the seven parks, at which time the investment reflected 2.4 times return on capital for Palamon investors. It has retained Movie Park Germany, the country's third largest theme park, with expectations that further product enhancement and a renewed consumer spending environment in Germany will significantly grow revenues.
