Ron Sandler CBE is chairman of Northern Rock plc, Paternoster Limited and Ironshore Inc and a Non-Executive Director of Fortis Group. He was previously Chief Operating Officer of NatWest Group, and before that, Chief Executive of Lloyd’s of London. He is a past-president of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and in 2002 he led an independent review of the UK Long Term Savings Industry. His early career was spent with The Boston Consulting Group. He has an MA from Queens’ College, Cambridge and an MBA from Stanford University.
